We may see some more activity on my part around here. I believe I have done most of what I can do in helping Mark Angeli of LinuxTracker.org redesign his website. For a sneak preview of what the new linuxtracker website looks like --so far-- see:
http://sblinux.org/linuxtracker/index.html

I did not do the graphic design. I rendered the design into bits and pieces that can be used with the XHTML and CSS I put together to desplay the page on the web.

A lot more work needs to be done, as Mark adapts this design draft to the needs of his linuxtracker database in php.

Linuxtracker update

Postby SilverBear on Fri Jul 18, 2008 12:20 pm

Much more quickly than I'd have thought possible, Mark has put the new design into operation.

I guess it is the quickest way to debug things, but I don't envy him his job right now!

See more at
http://linuxtracker.org/

As of Friday AM, his latest success is getting dynamic data & links [instead of static links, like I provided in my xhtml/css] to display on the blue menubar. Yesterday we were trying to get that to work, but I was useless. . . it had to be done on the server. And Mark did it.

No kidding: this guy works hard to provide a great service to the Linux community. Make a donation to Linuxtracker today. Tell him SilverBear told you to do it.

Look into my eyeses. . . you will obey. . .

Hi SilverBear,
I donated a month ago(?) or so, and now I even get V.I.P in yellow at their Web site. WooHoo! In all seriousness, though, I see that he is well off of his money goal for the month and could use some support. I'm thinking about getting a T-shirt also, and like the design.
I echo your good thought on donating to Linux Tracker - to anyone else who can afford to. (If I were paranoid, I might even think that the reason bittorrent is being demonized is because it is one, very important tool, that most Linux distro developers use to get their operating systems disseminated. But, thinking powerful software companies might be behind this push to...)
:)
I like the new look, BTW and I think you did a great job on your part, putting the new Web site design together.
